Kent
Monitoring after a number of recent severe weather and flooding events has shown such events have resulted in major disruption to vital public services, serious impacts to public health and wellbeing, and cost the public sector millions of pounds to respond and recover. Through FRAMES, Kent County Council is aiming further increase its understanding and implementation of Multi-Layered Safety to identify options for improving the resilience of vital Health and Social Care sector in Kent to flooding and severe weather.A comprehensive, sector-wide spatial analysis is being undertaken in order to clearly understand the level of risk to the Health and Social Care Sector in Kent faces from flooding and which areas may be at greater vulnerability than others. This will be combined with an economic evaluation of the potential impact of climate change. Having better understood the risk profile within Kent, work will be carried out through collaboration with key stakeholders within the sector to identify how multi-layer safety can be implemented to address, reduce and remove these risks. The final outcome of Kent County Council’s FRAMES pilot will be a more aware, prepared and resilient Health and Social Care sector, that is able to continue to deliver vital services to the residents of Kent.
In the FRAMES Wiki you can find more elaborate information and results of this pilot.
