NON-Stop Project Structure

The NON-Stop project is divided into five work packages. While WP1 and 2 are administrative packages WP3, 4 and 5 are content based.

WP 3 – DEVELOP & TEST DIGITALISED SYSTEMS FOR ECO-INNOVATIVE, SMART PORT MANAGEMENT

With a focus on PORTS LABOUR/TIME, ENERGY AND POLLUTION REDUCTION the partners will:

  • Develop innovative digitalised information management systems in ports to achieve higher performance and time/energy/pollution reduction, considering interoperability and interconnectivity requirements and test the designed smart sensor-based/digitalised technologies in NON-STOP ports

Wp 3 consists of five pilots where these activities are carried out in practice:

  • Pilot 1: App for port fees collection – Zwolle
  • Pilot 2: Safety/security management to avoid shifting of ships, Narvik
  • Pilot 3: Development of a Port Digital Twin – Oostende, Bluebridge, Citymesh
  • Pilot 4: Sensor-based dashboard for air, light, and noise information, Helsingør
  • Pilot 5: Integrated water & sediment management dashboard, NPorts

WP 4 – DESIGN & PILOT INNOVATIVE DIGITALISED TECHNOLOGIES FOR SMART SEA/PORT/LAND-SIDE MANAGEMENT

With a focus on SEA/PORT/LAND-SIDE SMART MANAGEMENT, the partners will:
• Elaborate and pilot digitalised management technologies that allow enhanced use/monitoring/control of (bio) energy use and smart digital programmes for the management and valorisation of port areas/assets with energy/time reduction and  select port human resources with the specific task of fostering the design and implementation of digitalisation strategies and exchange of information on intelligent technologies within the NON STOP partnership and triggering further port digitalisation process within the NSR.

WP4 consists of four pilots:

  • Pilot 6: Intelligent shore power system & dashboard – Korsør
  • Pilot 7: Investigation and digitalization of energy facilities, Helsingør
  • Pilot 8: Port digital officer, Helsingør
  • Pilot 9: Virtual platform for management and promotion of port areas, BPK

WP5 - PRODUCE AND IMPLEMENT AN EVIDENCE-BASED GREEN DIGITALISATION TRANSITION STRATEGY FOR NSR PORTS

Centred on a PORTS SMART DIGITALISATION PROGRAMME, the whole partnership will:

  • Develop a scientically sound tool to assess & validate the testing and use of the piloted innovative environmentally friendly digital technologies and processes in port management, also in relation to their industrial partners (NON STOP tool to calculate time/energy/pollution reduction for the demonstrators);
  • Evaluate the pilots via the created tool and share data with local communities and transnational stakeholders;
  • Produce a NON-STOP green digital ports strategy with recommendations for other NSP ports on the different uses of technologies for smart port management to drive digital transformation. The strategy should meet the objectives of the UN “Global clean Ports” programme, EC & North Sea countries Digital Agendas;
