VIA University College, located in the Central region of Denmark, educates future engineers, designers, teachers, education specialists, nurses among others. They offer more than 40 degree programmes at eight campusses across the region.Thematic competences and experience
VIA contributes with two R&D programs. Centre for Business Globalisation develops and applies new knowledge on how SMEs can benefit from digitisation and globalisation in close cooperation with SMEs, public institutions and academia, in Denmark and abroad. Research Program for Industrial IT takes outset in the growing use of built-in intelligence in electro-mechanical products. VIA will conduct research and develop methods and tools within fields of embedded engineering, Industry 4.0 and IoT.
Benefit for the organisation from participating in the project
They seek to apply their knowledge in an industrial setting and to be part of an international research cooperation within Industry 4.0 on both the technical and business side. They have expert knowledge within the fields of business model development and embedded programming, IoT and industry 4.0 and are looking for cases to get feedback from industry in order to further develop their knowledge, tools and methods. They wish to use the knowledge gained to improve our educational programs and services.
Main role in the project
VIA will take part in WP3, WP4, WP5 and contribute with: recruiting SMEs, analysing the drivers for digitisation of manufacturing SMEs, developing suitable business models and tools for implementation, participate in producing material for training, participating in developing materials and tools that secure SME implementation after the project period, assist in implementing prototype of relevant software solutions, provide scientific peer-reviewed papers as a scientific outcome.
