Which are the organisation's thematic competences and experiences relevant for the project?

LIHH is a joint venture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, represented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Innovation, and the Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.. The aim of this public-private partnership is to further expand the role of the Hamburg metropolitan region as the leading innovative logistics metropolis in Northern Europe and to network logistics-related companies and institutions. LIHH will fully exploit its quadruple helix model of innovation in AVATAR.

 

What is the benefit for the organisation from participating in the project?

The increasing demand in urban freight transport and an ever-growing volume of e-commerce result into accelerated pressure on transport infrastructures Transnational knowledge exchange and capacity building is crucial for Hamburg in order to ensure to implement optimal and suitable innovations for green urban logistics and transportation. The projects supports the activation of Hamburg’s ITS strategy as well as its clean air strategy.

 

What is the main role in the project?

LIHH activities in the project will include:

  • Business, policy and legal framework related reports / strategies including workshops (WP 4)
  • A validation focused report / strategy (WP 5)
  • Participation and elaboration of a transnational good practice strategy, paricipation in and co-organisation and study visits (WP 5)
  • Organizing an international conference in Hamburg (WP 2) as well as additional communication activities (WP2)
