Water Governance Conference 2020: You are invited!

27 January 2020 - Published by Jens Uvijn

In sustainable water management, the protection of groundwater quality as well as quantity management are core activities of water providers such as the OOWV. Concepts such as ecosystem services or co-governance gain also more importance in recent years.

„Governance“ connects all these issues. Projects with a focus on governance study the development and implementation of technical and non-technical measures – and how they are depending on the legal contexts or conflicting uses. The conference aims to gather the results of the WaterCoG, Topsoil, STEER and go-CAM projects and to encourage and enhance an exchange between the projects. The transnational exchange aims also to strengthen the existing network and to identify key future challenges in the field of water governance. Further we link to a practical example of citizen involvement, i.e. a Climate Café coordinated by University of Groningen which invites students to learn about water quality and climate change (tbc).
