Known as the City of Zero Carbon, and also the first city in Denmark to join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, Sonderborg is a global ambassador for sustainable impact. Sonderborg Municipality aims at ZERO carbon transition by 2029. The ProjectZero vision is anchored in a public private partnership initiated in 2007. Sonderborg has achieved multiple awards for their climate vision and actions since then.
