SalFar

Dinner is Served!

11 June 2018 - Published by Dorte Storper
Baked goat cheese with sea buckthorn jam, beef roulades stuffed with seaweed, "North Sea" fish pot with saltwort and cochlearia.

These were just a few of the dishes that were on the menu during a culinary event that was arranged to raise awareness about SalFar and thereby the problem of increasing salinization. The common denominator for all the dishes on the menu was the inclusion of halophytes, which are plants adapted to growing in saline conditions, such as in a salt marsh.

The event was organised by the Foundation Ökowerk Emden in cooperation with Agilio, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the social participation of people with disabilities and to strengthen their self-determination and individuality.

The event, which took place on 25 May 2018, was a great success. 20 people participated in the dinner during which they were informed about SalFar and the objectives of the project.

Below you can see the complete menu from the event if you need inspiration for your next dinner party.
