Who we are and our roles in the RIGHT project

The RIGHT project's partnership encompasses seven countries and 14 organisations in the North Sea Region which includes regional partners, knowledge/R&D partners and industrial development bodies.

1. VESTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL (NO) (previously Hordaland County Council) - Lead Beneficiary, WP1 and WP2 leader

The council is the lead beneficiary for the RIGHT project's partnership and through WP1 and WP2 manages the RIGHT project and its communication activities. As all other regional partners, the county will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5). The Vestland County Council is the Coordinating Beneficiary for the Norwegian co-partnership in the project (Vestland County Council, Alver Municipality, NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster, GCE Ocean Technology).

From 01.01.2020 the Hordaland County formally merged with the Sogn og Fjordane County to create the new Vestland County.

2. ALVER MUNICIPALITY (NO) (previously Meland Municipality)

The municipality will run a localized version of the project in cooperation with with the Vestland County Council. The municipality will also support research (WP3), pilot (WP4), and policy making (WP5) activities in the Vestland region.

From 01.01.2020 the Meland Municipality formally merged with two other municipalities creating the new Alver Municipality.

3. NCE SEAFOOD INNOVATION CLUSTER (NO)

The cluster will contribute with the recruitment and involvement in the project of regional businesses within Vestland's blue sector. The cluster will also support research (WP3), pilot (WP4), and policy making (WP5) activities in the Vestland region.

4. GCE OCEAN TECHNOLOGY (NO)

The cluster will contribute with the recruitment and involvement in the project of regional businesses within Vestland's energy sector. The cluster will also support research (WP3), pilot (WP4), and policy making (WP5) activities in the Vestland region.

5. THE PROVINCE OF GRONINGEN (NL) - WP3 Leader

The province, together with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, leads project partners through the research encompassed in WP3 - Mapping the Skills Gap. As all other regional partners, the province will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

6. HANZE UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES (NL) - WP3 leader

The university, together with the Province og Groningen, leads project partners through the research encompassed in WP3 - Mapping the Skills Gap. The university will support the province's activities throughout the project.

7. FIFE COUNCIL (UK) - WP4 leader

The council leads project partners through the process of bridging the skills gap through the pilot programmes described in WP4. As all other regional partners, the council will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

8. INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER SOUTH - IUC SYD (SE) - WP5 leader

IUC Syd leads project partners through the process of increasing innovation capacity through policy described in WP5. IUC syd will support the Skåne region's activities throughout the project. IUC Syd is the Coordinating Beneficiary for the Swedish co-partnership in the project (IUC Syd, Skåne Region).

9. SKÅNE REGION (SE)

As all other regional partners, the region will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

10. THE PROVINCE OF ANTWERP (BE)

As all other regional partners, the province will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

11. GHENT UNIVERSITY (BE)

The university will assist the Fife Council (WP4 leader) in the development of a methodology for the pilot experiments encompassed in WP4. Ghent's platform www.marinetraining.eu will be used by the RIGHT project to promote and facilitate public events and pilot-related training programmes.

12. JOHANN DANIEL LAWAETZ INSTITUTE (DE)

The institute acts as a regional partner for the Hamburg region in Germany. Together with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the institute will perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in the Hamburg region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

13. HAMBURG UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES (DE)

The university supports the regional approach of the Johann Daniel Lawaetz Institute to the Hamburg region in Germany.  Together with the institute, the university will perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in the Hamburg region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).

14. BUSINESS VORDINGBORG (DK)

The industrial development body acts as a regional partner for the Vordingborg region in Denmark. As all other regional partners, the council will also perform a research study to identify the relevant skills gaps in their region (WP3), conduct pilot educational programs to close this gap (WP4), and increase the region's innovation capacity through policy (WP5).
