Reflections on the kick-off of the Peer-to-Peer Learning Programme

21 May 2021 - Published by Eric Boessenkool

On the 21st of April Procirc organised the official launch of the Peer-to-Peer Learning Programme with a kick-off event. With more than 25 organisations from the North-Sea Region tuning in, Work Package 4 leaders presented the core elements of Procirc's Learning Programme: the online communication platform, thematic meetings and webinars and peer learning events. After this there were two break-out sessions where procurers, project- and programme managers, public officials and policymakers had the opportunity to share their challenges and lessons learnt in circular procurement with each other. This resulted in some very interesting conversations and discussions focused on how to:

  • engage higher management and policy makers to create the necessary conditions for procurers to integrate circularity into their practices
  • effectively connect with SMEs and start-ups that can offer innovative and circular products and service, yet might not have the capacity or expertise to participate in public contracts
  • decide in which stage of your procurement process you integrate certain circular criteria to ensure you don't exclude innovative suppliers

Over the course of the next month various peer learning activities will be organised. If you'd like to stay up-to-date and be involved, you can sign-up to the mailing list.
