Practical guidance for procurers and project managers in circular procurement

On the 9th of November Interreg North Sea Region projects Procirc and Circ-NSR are joining forces to organise a webinar to showcase best practices, practical tools and case studies for organisations that are working on the transition towards a more circular economy.

Public procurement can play a pivotal role stimulating the transition towards a more circular economy, if organised right. Circular procurement is a relatively new topic, for which there is no one size-fits-all solution. On a daily basis project managers, procurers and contract managers are working hard to translate circular ambitions and policies towards practical, tangible and concrete projects and interventions.

This webinar Procirc and Circ-NSR partners will provide insights into their experiences with circular procurement. During the two projects these experiences have been translated to best practices, practical guidance and showcases. During this webinar these will be presented by the practitioners and experts that have put these in practice and gained experience.

Programme:

15.30 Welcome

15.35 Governance and circular procurement
In a region, several public sector parties are active. Each of these has its own procurement policy and focus. But to accelerate the transition to a circular economy, upscaling is needed. How can you cooperate as organisations on a joint ambition in the field of circular procurement? And how can you bundle knowledge and experiences as purchasing organisations? Examples from Nyborg (Denmark) and Friesland (The Netherlands) will be presented.

16.00 Circular Procurement Toolbox - Minimum Circularity Requirements
The ProCirc project aims to create a circular procurement toolbox to provide procurers with tools, methods and knowledge to integrate circularity in all process phases. Out of this toolbox, the Minimum Circularity Requirements will be presented as a new tool for procurers.

16.30 Showcases of circular procurement in construction
From theory to practice. Several examples of successful circular procurement projects from different countries and regions. The projects will be presented shortly and are followed by a panel discussion on failure and success factors for circular procurement.

One of the projects that will be presented is the circular building ‘t Centrum’ . More information about this project can be found here: https://www.kampc.be/innovatie/projecten/tcentrum/circular-building-t-centrum

Do you have an interesting showcase to present at the webinar? Do not hesitate to let us know in advance.
