Regional Development by a Dutch Managing Authority
PERISCOPE interviewed Albert Haan from SNN about their responsibility as a managing authority and role towards regional development. SNN is the Managing Authority for the Northern Netherlands and responsible for the regional ERDF programme. It coordinates implementation of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3) and OP ERDF in the Northern Netherlands.
SNN is the networking organization for government agencies, knowledge institutes, businesses and intermediate organizations in the Northern Netherlands. The main aim is to strengthen the regional economy, in particular focusing on innovation. Through PERISCOPE, SNN brings together fragmented and specialized knowledge in a novel EDP that triggers innovations and sustainable business development in the Northern Netherlands. SNN also exposes their members to potential sustainable partnerships beyond the country’s borders, for economic benefit.
