PERISCOPE

Periscope invited to contribute to the ECOPRODIGI event

03 December 2019 - Published by Stig Marthinsen

In November, ECOPRODIGI held their Future Foresight Workshop, targeted at stakeholders working in and with maritime industry and to those interested in the digitalisation of the industry. The objective of ECOPRODIGI’s Future Foresight workshop was to create a digitalisation roadmap to increase eco-efficiency in the Baltic Sea Region maritime sector. The November workshops tools from the strategic foresight toolbox were applied to open up, explore, and map the range of plausible future trajectories. The point of departure was three ECOPRODIGI cases: Vessel Performance, Cargo Logistics, and Shipbuilding. The foresight activities built on the work that was started in the first workshop in Klaipeda in October.

Dr. Matthew Spaniol from Aarhus University was present to develop potential points of intersection on the future of maritime and related industries, using information garnered from the Periscope project. This collaboration also strengthens links between projects in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea basins.

The workshop took place at Aalborg University’s Copenhagen premises on 20 November 2019.
