Periscope at the European Maritime Days 2019
The Periscope project was invited to participate in the workshop “Acting together in a regional ecosystem” during the recent EMD 2019 in Lisbon. Periscope presented its approach which it uses to stimulate cross-border co-operation among six innovative ecosystems all around the North Sea Region.
Together with colleagues from the Interreg Mediterranean project MISTRAL, the Baltic Sea & Space Cluster and the Maritime Institute Gdansk, we then discussed different ways of mobilising and engaging regional players to participate in such novel innovative collaboration networks, and practical ways to set out open innovation arenas. Panellists agreed on the necessity of a behavioural change among players, towards a more open culture for sharing information and experiences, combined with clear rules on how open innovation arenas should be organised.
It was a thoroughly successful panel meeting, and participants went back to their regions fired with ideas on bettering open innovation within the European maritime sector.
