Hanze University’s Bottom Up Business Opportunities (BUBO)
In this video, PERISCOPE interviews Egbert Dommerholt of Hanze University regarding their interest in the entrepreneurial discovery process, and how they interpret this in their unique BUBO approach.
The BUBO method first seeks to obtain business opportunities from the residents of the region, in collaboration with the knowledge institution HU. The opportunities that are found can then be made into new business models with the business community and other relevant institutions. The Hanze University of Applied Sciences is the largest university of applied sciences in the North Netherlands, and has an overall focus on (renewable) energy, healthy ageing and entrepreneurship. In the Knowledge Center Bio-based Economy, these three domains come together. This Knowledge Center contributes to PERISCOPE particularly by bringing in expertise on new business models (for single companies and value chains) and the circular/inclusive economy.
