Exploring the CO2-Impact Estimation Methodology within the PAV project

Autonomous transport systems and urban development and design holds great promise in addressing urbanisation challenges such as congestion and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Autonomous vehicles (AVs) offer the potential for widely available, low-cost, and environmentally friendly transportation options for both people and goods. By incorporating AVs into urban planning from street to district- and regional-level development, cities can effectively mitigate traffic congestion, optimize transportation routes, and enhance overall road safety. Moreover, the integration of AVs can contribute to reducing GHG emissions, thereby supporting sustainability efforts and creating more livable and environmentally conscious urban environments.

Urban Bilstrup and Magnus Jonsson from Halmstad University explore the topic.
