Grey partridge symposium on 27 November in Velp, the Netherlands

06 November 2019 - Published by Paul Stephens

On Wednesday 27 November 2019, Vogelbescherming Nederland (BirdLife NL) will hold an exciting national partridge symposium entitled `Sowing knowledge for partridges’ at Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein in Velp.

The event is expected to be an inspiring day for everyone who cares for the conservation of grey partridges and preservation of farmland biodiversity generally. During the first half of the day, talks will be given, followed by regional workshops in the afternoon to further help and inspire local farmland conservation initiatives across the Netherlands. During this symposium, an information set will be presented to support such new, regional partridge conservation initiatives. The set consists of Guidelines and scientific proof for grey partridge conservation, a series of factsheets on the practical establishment and management of habitat measures, and an inspiring video about the Dutch PARTRIDGE project.
