Copenhagen University is testing an experimental Zero Valent Iron filter for the removal of phosphorus and nitrogen from drainage water.
The nitrate is transformed into ammonium that could be recycled as a source of fertilizer for agriculture. The phosphates in the drainage water are caught inside the filter.
