The first Steering Group Meeting of the North Sea Wrecks Project has held in May 2019 in Oostende (Flanders - Belgium) with 26 participants, including numerous Members of the Advisory Board. The 2-day meeting was hosted by VLIZ - Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee.

During the first day, partners discussed progress achieved and coordinated the activities between the different work packages, notably regarding the sampling procedure and the Risk Assessment model.

The site visit to the Marine Station Ostend and the Research Vessel Simon Stevin brought interesting insights to working procedures at VLIZ, which will be applied in the NSW project.
