On December 13-14th 2016 the partnership behind Northern Connections met up in Aarhus, Denmark for the kick-off
We discussed how to expand our knowledge base as to work with Regional innovation strategies in a transnational perspective, but also what tools clusters can use to support SMEs in international innovation.
The scene was set for discussions on regional innovation strategies; how they are used by clusters and what aspects are missing from the strategies in order to become fully functional tools for the clusters. Also, the more political aspects of innovation strategies and how regions and cities need to look beyond their regional borders in order to be aligned with enterprises, that - in a globalized world - need to look beyond regional and national borders for innovation opportunities.
We also got the first insight into living labs – and it generated a lot of discussion on what a living lab is, and what it is not. Get a feel of what the partners think of the project by watching the movie from our kick-off meeting.
