Interreg North Sea CONNECT project knowledge exchange for port hinterland connections, 28th-29th of June 2022

Published 18. July 2022

During a visit of one and a half days at Bremerhaven the project partner SSPA Sweden had the possibility to get first hand information regarding the seaport processes for hinterland connections. The host for the visit was the project partner SHW Bremen (The Ministry for Science and Ports, Free and Hanseatic City of Bremen) and they provided an intensive schedule including visits and explanation of rail shunting area, rail shunting planning office, terminal operator processes, tour of the Bremerhaven port and IT service provider for hinterland connections.

The visit is an excellent example of collaboration between partners from different countries in the Interreg North Sea CONNECT project that come together and share experiences and knowledge in the region. The SSPA team is grateful for the opportunity provided by the project to gain insights in processes at Bremerhaven and wish to thank the SHW Bremen team for great organisation of the visit.
