Welcome To The Village (NL) most beautiful Festival village

Welcome to The Village is a four-day festival for performing arts, visual arts, social design, food and innovation that takes place every year in July in nature reserve the Green Star, just outside Leeuwarden. The festival is inspired on the stage as well as behind the scenes by the Sustainable Development Goals. This means that we are committed to a world that works, with less inequality between different population groups, where men and women are equal, running on sustainable energy and where there is a lot of attention for innovation.

Which are the organisation’s thematic competences and experiences relevant for the project?

WTTV is a event which is a small village itself, only temporary. From 2013 every year we try to better ourselves, our visitors and our environment by experimenting with innovations at our event. We have a broad network of companies, knowledge institutions, governments and visitors that are actively involved in the innovations on our event.

What is the benefit for the organisation from participating in the project?

We aspire two things:

1. a event without a carbon footprint. With this inno-quarter project we are getting closer to this goal.

2. a event where every visitor gets a ‘transformation’ by evaluating products and services.
