Aalborg University (DK) Knowledge for the World
Knowledge for the World is Aalborg University’s (AAU's) overall strategy, which will form the basis, chart the course and set the level of ambition of the university towards 2021. Our strategy will help us ensure that we continue to develop our strengths, and it will prepare us to meet the challenges and opportunities which are already emerging. The strategy has been developed through an open and inclusive process involving members of staff, students and external business partners as essential contributors. The University Board approved the strategy on 26 October 2015. AAU’s strategy for 2016-2021 defines the overall mission and vision of the university as well as the visions and actions within the following areas: •Research •Problem based learning •Education •Knowledge collaboration •Our organisationWhich are the organisation’s thematic competences and experiences relevant for the project?
The vision of the research group on Sustainability, Innovation and Policy is to contribute to sustainable development through innovative research. The research group has more than 20 years of experience in the field of sustainability and has a clear focus on eco-innovations within different business areas. SIP researches sustainability from local and regional perspectives in close cooperation with enterprises, public institutions, and other (inter)national researchers.
What is the benefit for the organisation from participating in the project?
The AAU research strategy can be expressed in four words: “from research to change”. This project offers the possibility of effective dissemination of new knowledge through cooperation with the community and wider society. This is important in order to achieve sustainable change. The project will contribute to new cognition, knowledge and innovation, which at AAU can be used as a solid foundation for research-based teaching and innovation.
