The Offshore Wind Business in Belgium is undoubtedly booming. Four wind farms are operational, two are under construction and three more are in the pipeline...

The new marine spatial plan for 2020-2026 will speficy new zones for additional offshore wind farms. This makes Belgium one of the great flagship of Europe, with a vast amount of knowledge and experience in Belgian companies.

During the Belgian Offshore Days, the annual Belgian offshore high mass organised by Belgian Offshore Cluster, over 50 companies active in the Offshore Wind Industry presented their broad range of services and products to the visitors. The event was held in Ostend on 21- 22 March and combined a fair and conference.

During and in cooperation with the Belgian Offshore Days, POM West-Flanders, Flanders’ Maritime Cluster and the Port of Oostende organised two complementary business events as part of the Inn2POWER project: a B2B Matchmaking Event and a visit to the Port of Oostende and the now under construction Coastal and Ocean Basin.

The Inn2POWER B2B Matchmaking Event organised by POM West Flanders, Flanders’ Maritime Cluster and Port of Oostende was a great success with 80 participants from 10 different countries. The participants were given the opportunity to meet with expert companies, gain new scientific and technological insights and explore new cross-border business partnerships. Gallery

The visit to the Coastal and Ocean Basin gave a first look on this new maritime laboratory in Ostend, which consists of a towing tank and wave basin.  The first experiments are expected to start in 2019.
