Green Deal going local

We are proud to announce that INDU-ZERO has been selected as one of the 200 best practices contributing to the European Green Deal. The selection has been made by the EU Commission of the Regions. The European Union has set itself the objective of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050, a target that the European Commission's president, Ursula von der Leyen, has described as the ‘greatest challenge and opportunity of our times’.

As Vice President Timmermans added: "The level of success of the Green Deal will depend on the quality of our local and regional projects, which shall differ from each other and pay attention to the different needs of our territories. Therefore we need to find ways in the Next Generation EU to work more directly with cities and regions."

The European Committee of the Regions is committed to playing a full part in achieving this objective and to ensuring that local and regional perspectives are always reflected in the European Green Deal, the EU roadmap to carbon neutrality. The Green Deal sets out objectives, principles, and tools in policy areas ranging from emissions reduction and industrial policy to agriculture and biodiversity.

INDU-ZERO is proud to be part of the solution in achieving the set goals by making it possible to renovate 22 million houses in the North Sea Region towards energy neutral before 2050. Read more about the Green Deal Going Local.
