Physician known for placing young informal care on the agenda will speak and lead a discussion at the project's partner meeting in November.

Keynote speaker Els Jonker is a youth health care physician and public health physician. She has worked as a youth health care physician in Deventer for more than thirty years.

Jonker grew up with a seriously ill parent. Nevertheless, it took until the beginning of 2000 before she realized that young caregivers are also unknown and invisible in her own field of study.

Since then she has been devoting herself on various occasions to placing Young Informal Care on the agenda, on behalf of the Dutch Association of Youth Health Care Physicians (AJN).

You can stay in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter – and join our twice-yearly newsletter.

Since 2013, she has been associated with the Netherlands School of Public and Occupational Health (NSPOH), the training of youth health care physicians. Since autumn 2013, she has also been the Young Informal Care Ambassador for the Dutch Association of Youth Health Care Physicians (AJN).

She will provide the facts and figures on Young Informal Carers in Europe and will lead a discussion about this topic.
