IMMERSE is organising the fifth Transnational Estuary Exchange Lab (TEEL) on 22-23 March 2023 to be held in person in Hull, UK. This will be the fifth in a series of region-wide events organised by the IMMERSE project.
The main theme of this final exchange lab is emerging pollutants, relating to the additional activities as part of the IMMERSE extension on microplastics and sediment bound pollutants. The sessions will introduce the topics, provide information about the status in North Sea Region estuaries, explore solutions to mitigate the effects, give examples of such solutions and allow for discussion.
The agenda is now almost complete, and the keynote speakers at the conference including:
1) Sediment-bound pollutants in the North Sea Region - posing a threat to estuarine functions (Prof. Jeanette Rotchell, University of Hull)
2) Preventing Plastics pollution (Kim Goonesekera, UK Environment Agency)
