How a small card secures better help for seniors

Thanks to a nifty little card, general practitioners and pharmacists in Turnhout can help seniors quickly and easily.

Many seniors have trouble finding their way to services and places where they can get assistance. The introduction of a small card can make this easier.

The card has two parts. The senior fills out the card together with their general practitioner or pharmacist. One part contains information about the Welfare Assistance Centre and is kept by the senior. The other part goes to the Centre, which then contacts the senior.

“This is yet another initative that actively brings our services closer to our seniors”, says Kelly Verheyen, Alderman at the City of Turnhout.

The pilot project was introduced in mid October, and is one of the results of the project From Isolation to Inclusion.
