Alliance for the Region GmbH is a regional alliance of partners from business, science, politics, and administration. Together, they work to develop their region as a location with a strong economy and high quality of life for more than 1.1 million people – a “home for the future.”Thematic competences and experiences
AfdR brings together key players in government and administration on one hand with those from business and research on the other. As a public-private-partnership their goal is the development of sustainable structures for a prosperous and attractive region. Together with selected partners, they organise projects in clearly defined sectors such as education, energy, environment and resources, health care, leisure, economic development and relocation, automotive business and research.
Benefit for the organisation from participating in the project
Due to the international collaboration and the massive exchange of information they expect to strongly benefit from participating. AfdR will permanently integrate the obtained project results into its daily work and in doing so improve the regional structures. Thereby the manufacturing SMEs in the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region will be supported in growing into Industry 4.0, raising competitiveness and accelerating growth. Additionally, they will sustain their newly established connections within NSR.
Main role in the project
Since they are very well embedded in the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region, AfdR will be able to identify and engage regional manufacturing SMEs and other relevant actors to be involved in the project. Additionally, they will organise internal and external exchange of information events as well as dissemination events. Within the frame of WP5 they will provide their experiences in the measurement of competencies. Over and above that, they will engage in all WPs to contribute to the project's success.
