GEANS strived to harmonise DNA-based tools for routine monitoring programs conducted in support of policy and decision making concerning marine ecosystem health. Are you interested in how DNA-based tools could further improve marine environmental monitoring and how they could complement traditional morphology based methods? Then the GEANS final event is of interest to you!

On Tuesday 27 June (12:30-13:45 CET), the GEANS consortium is organizing its final event to present the main findings of the project related to how DNA-based methods could be incorporated to improve environmental monitoring. These main findings are based on several pilot studies, using both bulk DNA and eDNA, conducted around the North Sea. Additionally, several products provided by GEANS, such as a well-curated North Sea benthos reference library and different protocols, improving molecular environmental monitoring will be showcased. Lastly, we will present next steps and make links to newly started Horizon Europe projects.
