Mobipunt launch at Sint-Lievens-Houtem with the Transport Minister
If you would like a break from the dreary weather just now, take a look at the video of the mobipunt (mobipoint) launch which took place in Sint-Lievens-Houtem, Belgium with the Transport Minister in May this year - click here for video.
A mobipunt is a recognisable place with a diverse range of transport options. These modes of transport are coordinated and are preferably supplemented with extra services.
The mobipoint is also optimally organized spatially. The purpose of the mobipoints is to facilitate combi mobility: access to and transfer between the various transport options.
Any node of transport options, close to sufficient transport potential, qualifies as a mobipoint. In addition, it must meet the necessary performance requirements depending on the spatial context.
G-PaTRA partner Taxistop have been working on bringing the concept of mobipunten to rural areas following on from work which has seen the concept of mobipunten being rolled out throughout the entire Flemish region.
