FAIR

First Technical Meeting

07 February 2017 - Published by Eric Boessenkool
Last December it was decided to start with so-called "Technical Meetings" in between the two yearly Coordination Group Meetings. In these technical meetings the partners in the FAIR project work together on a central theme.

On February 3rd the first FAIR Technical Meeting has taken place in Malmö, Sweden, and the central theme was the FAIR framework for Asset Management (A.M.) and Investment Planning (I.P.).

Different frameworks are internationally used (like International Levee Handbook or adaptive pathways), though with a specific focus on a part of the A.M. and I.P. process.

Often the framework deals only with A.M. and I.P. on asset level and external factors (like climate change) are not incorporated. The challenge was to develop a framework that covers A.M. and I.P. on asset level as well as on network level in an ever changing environment (social as well as physical), understood by all FAIR partners.

In the next months this new developed framework will be applied to understand the current approaches used by the FAIR partners for A.M. and I.P.
