In November FAIR has been presented at the Northern German INTERREG Conference in Bremen, Germany, with more than 100 participants from the local and regional authorities including the decision makers, industry and the research.

The aim of the conference has been to present and reflect on the current outcomes and lessons learned from the INTERREG Vb Projects, foster and create new networks and give ideas for the future perspectives within INTERREG.

Dr. Maike Schaefer, the Senator for Climate Protection, Environment, Mobility, Spatial Planning and Housing of the Free& Hanseatic City of Bremen opened the conference, emphasizing the importance of the INTERREG Programme for the  North Sea Region and in particular, for the cities such as Bremen.

TUHH and LSBG represented the FAIR project.

Peter Fröhle from TUHH took part in the panel discussion presenting the main outcomes and challenges of the FAIR Project. Fröhle addressed the challenge on how to bridge the gap between the strategic and operational planning and the FAIR answer to it by introducing the ‘technical handshake’. Also, the benefits of FAIR for the City of Hamburg have been outlined and discussed with the audience.

The conference has been an excellent opportunity to engage with the other participants and both, LSBG and TUHH representatives presenting the FAIR posters and exchanged the ideas and experiences with the colleagues from other INTERREG Vb Projects.
