In the subsequent panel, the similarities and differences when working on games and films are discussed on the basis of a license template. The evening then turns into a relaxed get-together.

Maurice Hagelstein is Game Director of the indie studio Tiny Roar and was involved as a writer in the reboot of the infamous point-and-click adventure Leisure Suit Larry. His lecture deals with the challenges in the development and dealing with the expectations of the fan base of the popular game series that has grown over decades.

After six years of work, including in the Hamburg animation studios of Akkord Film, on January 30, 2020 THE HEINZELS - RETURN OF THE HEINZELMÄNNCHEN will finally come on a grand scale to the cinema and the matching merchandise on the shelves. How this came about and what hurdles had to be overcome, explains producer and managing director Dirk Beinhold, who was also the source of ideas for DIE HEINZELS.
The subsequent panel with both speakers will be moderated by Dr. Jan Asmus , Head of Administration at the Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein Film Fund.
The meet & mingle by FFHSH and gamecity: Hamburg was organized with the kind support of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with the SAE Institute Hamburg and the Interreg project Create Converge and is aimed at actors and interested parties from the fields of animation, film and games.
The goal of the event was to connect people from the animated film sector with people from the games industry since they have overlapping activities but often don’t know each other or do not know where to find each other. That is why we have chosen a speaker from each sector with a presentation relevant to both parties. The response was very positive, also in terms of partnership: Create Converge had teamed up with the newly assembled gamecity:hamburg. The new team started in summer 2019 and we immediately began discussing a joint event. The event was supported by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the SAE Institute that provided us with the location.

Producer and managing director Dirk Beinhold, who had also the inspiration for THE ELFKINSl told us how this happened and what obstacles had to be overcome.
85 participants from 35 different companies attended the event and networked till late after the two presentations and the fireside chat.
