Story of digital transformation from Norddjurs, DK: Strategies on e-Tourism
CORA partners share their stories of transformation towards a digital society. The aim of the SAINT – Strategies on e-Tourism pilot was to develop new tourism-oriented digital services to enhance the visitor experience in Norddjurs Municipality and increase the awareness of how fast Internet access can boost the local economy. The pilot deployed two WiFi Hotspot in a tourist attraction in a nature area and provides support to local businesses to help them boost activities and tourism in rural areas using the benefits offered by fast internet.
For rural and remote areas to stay attractive for families and businesses, they need a healthy digital environment. This requires a digital infrastructure, well-developed digital services, and sufficient digital skills among the population. The CORA partners faced their challenges and tested own solutions designed to bridge the digital divide in their regions.
