Why is the Jade University participating in CATCH?

CATCH will help Jade University to gather knowledge and expertise on climate adaptation in other North Sea countries. Within CATCH, Jade will work with a transdisciplinary team on a decision support tool that incorporates the fields of expertise of Jade. The University will transform and transfer the results of CATCH to its daily work and will apply it on local and regional projects in Germany.

What is your main role in the project?

Jade University contributes to all work packages. It will take a leading role in the development of the dashboard tool and will support the pilot partners with the application of the tools, the interpretation of the results and the evaluation of the pilots. Together with the partnership they will support building the climate adaptation strategy guidelines. Special focus will be on the dissemination of project results to scientific stakeholders on national and European level.

What experience do you have with regards to climate adaptation?

The department Construction and Geo-information of the Jade University of Applied Sciences, has a wide range of competences and experiences in the field of urban infrastructure in relation to climate adaptation strategies. Relevant research is carried out on hydrology, climate impact and climate adaptation. What is the benefit for the organisation from participating in the project? 

What is the organisation’s experience in participating EU co-financed projects or other international projects?

Jade University has coordinated 2 INTERREG IVB projects as Lead Partner and participated in 5 INTERREG IV projects since 2009. Furthermore Jade University is currently participating in an European Framework project, INTERREG VA project and is experienced in international students and scientists exchange programmes. The Institute for pipeline engineering in Oldenburg, an affiliated institute of Jade, participated in the INTERREG IVA project Deutsch-Nederlandsche Wassertechnologie.
