CATCH

A visit to Enschede…

29 April 2022 - Published by Manon van de Riet
On 9 March 2022, professionals on spatial planning, water and climate and connected from all over the Netherlands visited Enschede for a tour of various climate adaptation projects.

They were shown how Enschede is working on a water sensitive, climate-resistant and biodiverse municipality. One of the stops on the route was the Stadsbeek and the Pinkeltjesplein. There, they were told how the municipality and the water board had worked together within CATCH  to create this climate-adaptive and multi-functional square. The Pinkeltjesplein offers a combination of water storage, cooling and stimulation of biodiversity in a reasonably petrified neighbourhood and play.
