C5a was presented as a keynote speech at the North Sea Conference. 250 participants were in Marstrand, Sweden, among them project leaders from Interreg North Sea Region and regional politicians from the CPMR North Sea Commission.

C5a project leader Egon Baldal started out with the idea of Greta Thunberg, the Swedish climate strike girl, that we should act as if our house is on fire. Of course, we have to try to put out the fire. Besides that, a good insurance provides the capacity for rebuilding your house after disaster. C5a, and the concept of climate adaptation is that insurance. This idea led to a lot of positive reactions after the presentations. After the keynote presentations a panel discussion was held and we al got a gift certificate. C5aíans also participated in the organization of two workshops on climate adaptation and climate governance. These workshops gave some valuable insights into what others think of climate change and how to adapt to it. All in all, The North Sea Conference was a success for the communication about the early ideas of C5a. We are a name now:)
