Lunch talks about blockchain

On 13th of May 2022, the city of Ghent organized a lunch session on blockchain for the civil servants of the city. This session helped creating awareness and support for blockchain-based solutions amongst the employees.
The session focused on both the Energy Loan pilot in Ghent, the technical aspects of blockchain and the other examples from the BLING pilots. The challenges in the energy transition and climate adaptation request innovative solutions for cities. It was very important to focus on the greater goal of the Energy Loan to show the importance of the blockchain technology.
The overall response on this kind of session was very positive. 72 civil servants of Ghent joined the session. For some of the participants, blockchain was completely new and interesting to learn more about. Therefore a second session focusing on the technical aspects of the technology will be organized in Autumn 2022.
