Enacting the Last Mile: Experiences of Smart Contracts in Courier Deliveries

Smart contract systems are protocols which automatically check, control or execute events and can be used for example in last-mile delivery. The design of such contracts is quite technological complex which makes it difficult for end users to work with.
The University of Edinburgh (UK) and Delft (NL) together with South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran) described a use case in which couriers and receptionists executed deliveries to explore the potential impact of smart contract technologies. Their findings are presented in the paper: ‘Enacting the Last Mile: Experiences of Smart Contracts in Courier Deliveries’ which you can download freely on our website.
