CYCLING ACADEMY EVENT AT BEVERLEY MEMORIAL HALL

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is joining forces with partners across Europe in a project that aims to reduce CO2 emissions and increase bicycle use by 10 per cent within targeted groups.

The council is hosting the first Bicycles and Intelligent Transport Systems (BITS) Cycling Academy in Beverley on Thursday 26 September, with the aim of bringing together anyone interested in smart cycling and the use of intelligent transport systems to increase the uptake and safety of cycling.

Speakers will include partners from across Europe, who will share their experience and good practice, as well as UK companies involved in ITS implementation.

The event will be held at Beverley Memorial Hall from 9am to 3.30pm.  Anyone who is involved in planning cycling infrastructure, improving safety or just wants to learn more about this technology and how it can begin to improve public transport links, health and wellbeing and influence policy is welcome to attend.

The BITS project is co-funded by the North Sea Region (NSR) Programme of the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union.  It is being delivered by 10 partners across the North Sea Region.

This event is free but places must be  pre-booked.  For more information and to register for tickets please visit www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bits-uk-cycling-academy-tickets-69277309297.
