BITS project first launch at the ITS European Congress
The ITS European Congress was held in Brainport Eindhoven (The Netherlands) on 3-6 June 2019. It is the largest event entirely dedicated to smart mobility and digitalization of transport and it features international programme sessions and presentations with top speakers from the industry, demonstrations of the current transport technologies developed and deployed throughout the world, and exhibition of cutting-edge companies.
The BITS project was presented by project manager Ronald Jorna (you can see the presentation here). At the same event BITS partner Kevin Mayne (CEO of Cycling Industries Europe) chaired a session on how cities can accelerate the uptake of cycling through intelligent mobility solutions. It was good to present the BITS project at this car-dominated ITS congress, which however showed that there is a keen interest also in ITS for cycling. Each of the two sessions attracted an audience of 50-60 people.
