Invitation to the birthday party of the provincial Cycle Barometer – a BITS event
The Province of Antwerp has been collecting objective information on cycling and cycling routes since 2015.
The provincial Cycle Barometer provides an overview in the quality of our supralocal functional cycle network. Together with cities and municipalities of our province we also count cyclists on this network. Cycling accidents indicate locations of increased risk safety. And finally we acquire regular insights in the experience and profile of cyclists and non-cyclists by surveys.
After more than 5 years we now firmly hold the handlebar and find ourselves in balance. We keep on tinkering on our Cycle (Barometer) and evaluate how we can improve it together with local administrations and users.
Reason enough to raise a glass with you on our 5th birthday and look forward to a next anniversary!
We therefore are happy to invite you to the birthday party of the provincial Cycle Barometer on March 30th 2022 at the House of the Province of Antwerp.
This event will be held in Dutch and you can follow two out of four workshops:
Session 1
- Counting cyclists
What is in it for you? What material is made available by the province of Antwerp? How can you trace back and reuse your counting data in Cycle Barometer?
- Online Cycle Barometer
In this workshop we demonstrate the online Cycle Barometer with a number of use cases. A learning opportunity for user and developer.
Session 2
- Keep the Cycle Barometer up to date
We developed a tool for you to efficiently mark cycle paths or mixed traffic that needs to be measured again. Together we can keep the Cycle Barometer accurate and up to date.
- Embed the Cycle Barometer in your cycling policy
How can Cycle Barometer work for you? How to steer your cycling policy and how to communicate with Cycle Barometer in your municipality/city?
