BITS Academy on cycling data in cooperation with the University of Oldenburg

The event will take place on 9th April 2021 (14.00 - 16.30 CEST). This Academy is a cooperation between the BITS project and the University of Oldenburg. The core of this BITS Academy will focus on the presentation of the results of the University of Oldenburg in the field of bicycle data. This will include a live demo of their website with functionalities for analysis, visualization, comparing and downloading bicycle data.

Preliminary programme:

  1. Welcome by University of Oldenburg and introduction on university and projects (Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jorge Marx Gómez, University of Oldenburg - 10 minutes)

  2. Short introduction on the BITS project and the importance of cycling data from a European perspective (Kevin Mayne, Cycling Industries Europe - 5 minutes)

  3. Presentation and live demonstration of the https://bicycle-data.de (University of Oldenburg)

      • Smart helmet. Added value: combination of physical product and generating cycling data (15 min)

        Interactive feedback, comparison with other projects, Q&A (15 min)

      • Data: type of data, different formats. Added value: uniformization of data sets, comparability (15 min)

    BREAK

      • a) data portal + download portal: technical building of the portal + lessons learnt & b) KPI’s and analysis of data (25-30 minutes)

        Interactive break-out session with live testing of the bicycle-data.de  (20 min)

  4. Short presentation about the CDH (Kim Verbeeck, Province of Antwerp, 8 minutes)

  5. Conclusions + recommendations (10 minutes)
