Dordrecht inspires with climate adaptation pilots

16 October 2017 - Published by Ellen Kelder

On September 28, 2017 Dordrecht hosted the national City Deal Climate Adaptation meeting. The City Deal is a Dutch collaboration between fourteen public and twelve (semi) private partners, both companies and knowledge institutions. It has four main objectives: developing towards climate resilient cities in 2050, show good examples through pilot projects, delete obstructions, learn and share knowledge and practices with national and international partners. During last meeting, the City of Dordrecht and partners signed the declaration of intent 'Nature Based Solutions' (NBS). This is an opportunity to enhance climate resilience and to incorporate the values of nature in our daily city life. The City of Dordrecht wants to participate in the NBS project with the same demonstration projects as within the Interreg NSR project BEGIN. The first NBS pilot projects will be realized in the Dutch cities of Dordrecht and Eindhoven.
