Green Axe Project
The project of Ghent involves the development of 7 green axes, or climate-proof green spaces, around the city. By implementing green axes, the vulnerability to climate change related effects of city infrastructure can be reduced. The social or urban goals are firstly, to eliminate the urban-administrative barriers that hinder or complicate the realization of this green axe as much as possible. Secondly, to create a participatory process which involves the community in maintenance of infrastructure.
