AVATAR - OHB and E. Van Wingen visit the Green Wave

27 October 2021 - Published by Tom Pauwels
AVATAR project partners OHB and E. Van Wingen visited the Green Wave in Ghent (21/10/2021). The engineering team of E. VAN WINGEN NV took the opportunity to collect inspiration in order to co-develop the new AVATAR vessel with the appropriate engine and equipment.

One of the AVATAR goals is to build a new, highly automated vessel (load capacity 20 ton, zero-emission) to be used for city freight distribution.

As a preparation for this development, project partners OHB and E. Van Wingen visited the Green Wave in Ghent. The Green Wave is the full electric urban vessel developed by TESCO and De Groote-Houtboerke NV in the #IWTS2.0 project and is being used as a research vessel in the AVATAR project.

As you can see, the engineering team of E. Van Wingen took the opportunity to collect inspiration in order to co-develop the new AVATAR vessel with the appropriate engine and equipment.
