AVATAR - iSCSS conference
The AVATAR Interreg North Sea Region project is sponsor of the iSCSS-conference in Delft. AVATAR project partners will actively contribute with presentations and demonstrations, as shown in the overview below.
Aim of the conference is "human machine teaming in ship control", which strives to get the best out of collaboration between the human and control systems. In AVATAR, focus is on (highly) autonomous vessels and city freight distribution.
On Thursday 10 November 2022, a dedicated AVATAR session will be organized:
9.00-9.30: Tom Pauwels will give an overview of the AVATAR project
9.30-10.00: Urban vessel development, automation, fleet coordination and energy use case (Senne Van Baelen, Osman Akin, Kim Van Den Berge and Jelle Cornelis)
10.00-10.30: Developing an assessment guideline for maritime autonomous surface ships (Changyuan Chen)
On Wednesday 9 November 2022, an AVATAR demonstration event is organized:
16.30-17.00: Tour around RAS lab with AVATAR demonstrations
17.00-17.30: AVATAR demonstration: autonomous ships and sensor box
17.30-18.00: CASE demonstration: detection and tracking by using LiDAR
TUD AVATAR project partners will also present "A stereovision-based navigation system for autonomous inland vessels" (8/11/2022) and "Obstacle avoidance and trajectory optimization" (9/11/2022).
Tom Pauwels will be present during the full conference and is looking forward to align with conference participants about the AVATAR-project.
