AVATAR @ IAME 2021 Conference in Rotterdam
The project AVATAR is sponsor of the IAME2021 conference (www.iame2021.org). The aim of the hybrid conference is to bring together experts in all aspects of ports and maritime research, from all parts of the world and to stimulate the exchange of new ideas, relevant insights and cutting-edge research results.
On Friday 26/11/2021, the session “autonomous shipping” is organized during an academic-industry interaction moment. This session provides an overview of current challenges and multidisciplinary perspectives surrounding the development and future adaptation of smart and autonomous ships.
Presentations will include (i) latest research developments (VAsso Reppa, TUDelft/RAS); (ii) smart shipping technology (Tom Pauwels, POM Oost-Vlaanderen, Project AVATAR); (iii) logistics perspectives (Antoon Van Coillie, ZULU Associates); and (iv) market uptake opportunities (Marco Scholtens, NL Smart Shipping Platform SMASH). The presentations are followed by a panel discussion.
