The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg has been working on a remote control infrastructure independent of the controlled ship as part of the AVATAR Interreg North Sea Region project. The remote control infrastructure is able to support coordination on the one hand and to enable remote control of ships on the other hand. The remote control infrastructure developed in the AVATAR project has been evaluated in the context of the eMIR - eMaritime Integrated Reference Platform using the two research vessels Josephine and Sally.
On both days, the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg will test and demonstrate the remote control infrastructure by remotely controlling the Maverick from KU Leuven and the RAS vessels from TU Delft | Mechanical Engineering. Parts of the eMIR infrastructure will also be presented.
On the second day, Janusz Andrzej Piotrowski will give a presentation on the results achieved by Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in the AVATAR Interreg North Sea Region project.
The event is organized in cooperation with North Sea Port.
