For almost a decade, E. VAN WINGEN NV has been committed to sustainability and high level innovation. The energy use case in AVATAR Interreg North Sea Region is now being presented to the public and stretches far beyond a mere vision on the energy transition.
As a result of many years of cooperation with local universities and colleges, and offering thesis mentoring as well as internships, E. VAN WINGEN NV is ready to unveil from A to Z in Ghent how they have succeeded to implement this local and sustainable solution.
💡 What is it about ?
Autonomous vessels (no skipper on board!) developed to enable zero CO2 urban freight distribution, running on green power derived from hydrogen, without energy losses. No longer a science fiction story of what it might be looking like in the future, but a real life application that is operating efficiently.
💪 Finally real
At the Rigakaai in North Sea Port, E. VAN WINGEN NV will convince you of how disruptive innovation power has brought about a total solution that will facilitate the energy transition and pave the path to a more sustainable society.
The energy use case in AVATAR Interreg North Sea Region is focused on city freight distribution vessels sailing during daytime and charging the batteries at night (using a ICE CHP running on hydrogen). While the ICE CHP is charging the vessels, heat is released. In the AVATAR approach, this heat will be stored in a buffer tank that is part of a central heating installation. Project partner E. VAN WINGEN NV takes the lead for this use case. See also here and here.
The event is organized in cooperation with North Sea Port.
